Jen Heller

Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Girls Athletic Leadership School

Jennifer Heller is the new Director of Curriculum and Instruction for Girls Athletic Leadership School. She previously worked for Denver Public Schools as a Teacher Effectiveness Coach where she was responsible for coaching new and veteran teachers on effective planning and teaching. She also works with the two schools on implementing valuable and purposeful professional development.

After graduating cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in biology, Jennifer began her career in education by joining a corps of motivated young teachers through Teach For America. She taught Kindergarten for two years in the Mississippi Delta, making at least one year’s growth in reading objectives by mid-year.

Determined to continuously improve her practices in education, she returned to Denver to begin the Boettcher Teachers Program. Through this program, Jennifer received her Masters in Education from the University of Denver and her Linguistically Diverse Endorsement. She taught 5th grade, 2nd, 1st and Kindergarten. Jennifer is committed to providing an excellent opportunity and choice in education for all children.
