Karen Farquharson

Karen is currently in her fifth year working at Valdez Elementary School in Denver where she teaches preschool/kindergarten in a Montessori classroom. Valdez is a Dual-Language school and Karen teaches full time in Spanish. Prior to working at Valdez, Karen taught Middle School, worked as an Educational Interpreter for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students and worked in College Admissions. Karen is interested in opening an ECE-6th grade Dual-Language Montessori Farm School in a geographic area that does not currently have many Dual-Language options. Karen loves gardening, harvesting and cooking or preserving food with children! She has a large backyard garden and is working to become more food sustainable by growing and preserving as much food as she can.
