Principal Licensure

Get Smart Schools is proud to be one of just a select number of organizations approved by the Colorado Department of Education to offer an alternative pathway to principal licensure. Our program has been recognized both locally and nationally as in innovative model that is rigorously training leaders and driving academic achievement in the state of Colorado.

GSS fellows seeking a principal license will participate in graduate level courses at partner universities in Denver in addition to the core components of the Fellowship. Upon completion of the GSS Fellowship program, Fellows will receive a GSS recommendation and qualify to take the state’s licensing test to become a Type D administrator.

The principal licensure component makes the GSS Fellowship one of the most unique and valuable leader training programs in the nation. Licensure is just another way that we ensure that GSS Fellows are among the most prepared and knowledgeable school leaders in the country.
