Board Bank Member MOU

The GSS Board Bank is designed to match people interested in serving on school boards with new and emerging charter schools across Colorado.  The role of GSS is to facilitate these connections between schools and Board Bank members based on the information and interests provided by both parties.
                As a GSS Board Bank member, I understand and agree with the following:
                • I am interested in  serving on a charter school board, and understand that being a member of the board bank does not commit me to accepting a position with any given school
                • I believe that all students should receive a K-12 education that prepares them for success in college and beyond
                • I will engage in ethical and professional behavior as pertains to my board service, should I commit to  serving on a board
                • While Get Smart Schools may make the initial introduction, determination of a good school board match will be reached by myself and the school leader
                • Acceptance of a school board position will be based on a strong understanding of the school’s mission and its expectations for its board members
                • Once placed with a school board, I will complete the mandatory online training modules developed by the Colorado Department of Education within my first two years of service
                • And lastly, I believe that together, school leaders and school board members can create well-run schools that transform the futures of our children
                • I understand that it is my responsibility to contact Get Smart Schools if I wish to be removed from the Board Bank, either because my level of interest has changed, or I have accepted a board position.
